The first political cartoon is of an elephant and a donkey- who represent the political parties- plowing a field of Unity For Defense- which was a  current problem- with a man who represents the United States, behind the plow. the tree in the background has a paper nailed to it that says "1940…". this indicates the start of second world war when we are wondering whether to defend ourselves.

Map Questions

      1. Where are the newest countries in the world located? The newest countries are in Africa and russia, northwestern countries. South Sudan.
      2. Is there a connection between types of government a country has and the freedoms of the citizens? Newer countries tend to have a little bit more freedom and are a little calmer than older countries as the older countries develop problems in their well withered societies.
      3. What questions do you have about these maps? They do not have an overly stern key and sometimes only contain colors and not the reason for the color. Also why are some of the older countries experiencing major issues?

Obama a Dictator? I Think Not.

There are many people out there that believe that Obama is becoming a dictator. They believe that he is taking away our rights and liberties. However their statements are untrue and are severely biased. In fact, Obama has gained little power and does not emanate the past dictators. The republican party is still intact and his rivals have actually met with him for ideas of how to create a better country instead of being eliminated as the past dictators have done to their competition. We the people still have the right to freedom of speech and many take this right to their advantage and bash our president. His promises for better times may not have been sudden but the road is set and this road does not include him becoming our all time leader. He has also not shoved blame onto another person or group. I don't believe that he is trying to eliminate someone only to create a hole for the problems our economy is having. I also don't see him trying to expand his so called "empire". Obama is smart and educated he did not have the reckless and perilous childhood that many of the past dictators had to endure, and he is a skilled leader that is trying his hardest at one of the most difficult, and most stressful jobs available. He was voted for and he was cheered for, so lets step back and take in both sides.
